The Violin Bows
The violin bows are available in seven different models:
Cadenza  Concerto  Sinfonia  Sonata  Allegro  Veloce  Vega
The models range from the Cadenza which produces an exquisite pure and projecting sound, and is used by international soloists, to the Veloce which produces a warm round sound and is preferred by students and amateurs. The Concerto, Sinfonia, and Sonata bows are used most by orchestral musicians and serious students and amateurs.
The Vega is a bow specifically designed for 5 and six string violins. The Allegro is designed especially for those musicians who prefer the playing characteristics of the Veloce but need a better sound.
The Cadenza, Concerto, Sinfonia, Sonata and Vega bows are available with either round or octagonal sticks. The Veloce and Allegro bows have round sticks. As a general rule, the octagonal sticks are a little more 'lively' than the round sticks. The weight of the violin bows is approx 50 gms for the professional bows, 52 gms for the Allegro, and 55 gms for the Veloce.
- Because Arcus bows are a little different from traditional wood bows, we strongly suggest that to help you get the most from your bow you read the the following Hints and Tips for Use
