A few years ago Arcus did a complete redesign of their entire product line.
Over the years they had developed innovative new manufacturing techniques and these,
coupled with a deeper understanding of the properties of their bows and the expressed
needs of the players using them, prompted their engineers to go back to the drawing board.
They realised that the knowledge they had gained over the years would allow them to take bow design
to a level of sophistication that had never been possible before. The results speak for themselves.

A ~ Series - NEW for 2012
The new A series bows combine the best of all current Arcus models:
- the light weight of the S series that musicians love for enhanced agility, speed and comfort.
- the elegant Arcus S series frog design.
- the flexibility of the M series which makes it easy to play an Arcus bow.
- the balanced sound of the P series which gives the most beautiful sound on the majority of instruments.
The A Series bows are available with round sticks, just like the M series bows. Their agility and bounce is well balanced so that they suit the majority of players.

S ~ Series
The S ~ series . Ideal for solos. Radical virtuosity, perfect projection and incredible power. It's brilliant sound spectrum suits all well balanced instruments, and brightens darker sounding instruments. The S series bows are light, stiff, and powerful. They produce a brighter tone and allow a wider dynamic range than the M series bows. The S series bows are a good choice for the soloist player.

Arcus Violin E4 (Vega)
The E4 bow is made especially for electric and acoustic 5 and six string violins. It's designed to give a great sound across the range of the instrument,
but particularly enhancing the lower strings. It features an ebony frog and aluminium button and has a weight of approx. 60 grams. As with all Arcus bows, each E4 is individually hand crafted.

The P ~ Series (for Violin only)
This is the perfect bow for the orchestral musician. Easily maneuverable and
strong, with a very well-balanced sound. It works fantastically on
brighter sounding instruments and for nearly every type of player. They are darker in sound than the S series, but a little brighter in sound than
the M series. They are available in round and octagonal. The P series bows are a good choice for players who want the power and agility of the S series bows,
but prefer a less energetic response and a darker tone.

The M ~ Series
A bow to feel really comfortable with. It is so easy to handle, making
it easy to execute the most difficult strokes with absolute precision.
Its darker and warmer sound suits brighter instruments and blends really
well in the orchestra. The M series bows are heavier than the S series,
though still lightweight by normal standards. The extra weight gives them a slightly darker
tone color and a longer sustain. They are also somewhat steadier on the string, though less agile than the S series bows.
